Apple faces two lawsuits alleging patent abuse from a firm called Premier.

Premier claims Apple has breached two of its US patents, 6,243,725 and 6,763,345.

The first describes a list building system granted in June 2001 for building an inventory of audio and visual works, while the second patent is also a list building system. The second patent wasn't granted until July 2004, reports The Inquirer.

Apple is accused of incorporating technologies that breach these patents across its product line. The company is likely to argue that there is nothing new about such systems, as multimedia cataloguing systems have been available since the Finder menu first appeared.
