Lightning Source, a distributor of electronic books (e-books), has announced an alliance with Adobe that will give Macintosh users access to electronic books, according to Macweek.

Lightning has a library of 9,000 e-books, and will utilize Adobe’s PDF Merchant software for encryption and distribution services. Users will be able to access any Lightning title in PDF format using Acrobat Reader software.

The report claims the company has also agreed to offer its titles to Amazon customers.
