You will soon be able to take advantage of a personalised setup process when you buy a new Mac at the Apple Store.

9To5Mac reports that the service will be similar to that offered in the 'setup room' in London's Covent Garden Apple Store.

Apple Stores already offer personal setup services for anyone buying an iPhone, and recently expanded this for customers buying an iPad or the iPod touch.

An Apple employee will help you get your email account up and running, set up an iTunes account and also give you a guided tour of the Mac App Store.

This is likely to be especially appealing to those who've never owned a Mac before, though it is likely that many customers will have no need for the service.

The report said that the service would begin on Tuesday 11 January, the same day that Apple will reportedly drop restocking fees for items returned to the Apple Store.
