MMD Monitors & Displays has announced two new 24- and 22- inch widescreen Philips Moda monitors.
The Philips 248C3 and 228C3 feature two HDMI ports for direct input from PCs, set-top boxes, DVD players and video cameras.
Both offer quick switching between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, a 2ms response time and a full-HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Using state-of-the-art White LED (W-LED) backlighting technology, the 248C3 and 228C3 are capable of displaying an image instantly as soon as they receive a signal. W-LED displays are also brighter and offer a better contrast ratio than traditional LCD displays, and no mercury is used in their manufacture.
Both models sport brand-new Smart display technologies, SmartKolor and SmartTxt, according to the company. The former boosts the RGB gain level of the display to enhance visual colour and produce vibrant images whereas SmartTxt enhances the reading of PDFs and e-books by increasing the contrast and boundary sharpness.
The two monitors also sport a modern design with aluminium die-cast bases and a two-tone glossy finish, with black at the front and white at the back.
The Philips 248C3 and 228C3 will be available in major electronics retailers from the end of July at the RRP of £169 and £199 including VAT respectively.
