The digital music revolution continues with news about Playlist, a digital music club with a difference, which the organisers call "London's first democratic music lover's night."

Playlist takes place August 7 at Nambucca, 596 Holloway Road. Admission is free. The concept is simple, the organisers said: "Bring your favourite 15-minute Playlist on an iPod or other digital music player and play your songs, first come, first served". The best DJs win prizes from Belkin.

The event isn't confined to music fans with digital music players, the organisers promise: "It's not just about iPods though - you can play songs using other music players, judge the songs the DJs bring, or just have a good time. ".

Up for grabs are eight Belkin Media Readers and eight Belkin Voice Recorders, which will be awarded to the best DJs on the night in the opinion of the volunteer judges.

A Web site competition also exists: Playlist and Belkin (who are sponsors for the event) are inviting interested music fans to visit Playlist's Web site to sign up for the mailing list by emailing their favourite 15-minute-long Playlist of songs (artist, album and song title) and say why their Playlist is best in 30-words or less.

Two winners will receive a Belkin Media Reader and Belkin Voice Recorder each. One winner must collect their prize on the night, the other winner can be anywhere in the world and their prize will be sent to them – and their Playlist will be played on the night.
