As traditional radio battles for ear-share of the iPod generation, one of America's largest radio companies is to adopt a format that allows any listener to create a podcast and upload it to the station.

Infinity Broadcasting says that its "All Podcast" format "is going to give voice to your vision." The station doesn't plan to pay the podcasters for their work, it is felt that airtime alone should be sufficient. Infinity will try to sell advertising on the programs though, writes the Washington Post.

A survey has found that that iPod owners listen to less broadcast radio. However, the same survey (by Arbitron/Edison) found that 8 in 10 Americans say they will not listen less to broadcast radio even as they adopt other technologies.
