Ergonis Software has released PopChar X 3.0fc1 for Mac OS X, the final candidate of PopChar 3, which is due to ship "within the next few weeks".

It's the last beta release of PopChar X 3.0, a completely re-designed version of the widely used tool for inserting special characters into the text within any application. The Universal application will include over 25 new features.

These new features include quick search for special characters; a better user interface which floats above application windows; and optimised and faster character and font selection.

Ergonis Software is inviting all users to test the beta software, which is available now for download from the company.

It requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or newer (Mac OS X 10.4 recommended). "Classic" Macintosh applications are no longer supported in this release. The software will cost $29.99.
