The Power Mac G5 has been selected as one of the 25 Best Products of the Year by Fortune magazine.

The G5 features in the Office category, winning the accolade because "it's so cool". The magazine credits the G5's anodized aluminum enclosure as being more than "an aesthetic home run" claiming that "its perforations keep the computer from overheating".

Also praised are the "two sleek handles which make the machine easy to move". And the magazine admits that "the G5's 64-bit processor is one of the fastest around".

The magazine also highlights the Virginia Tech supercomputer project.

Other items winning the accolade of being one of the 25 Best Products of the Year include Altec Lansing's Inmotion Speakers – the small, white speakers that work with the iPod, the HP ScanJet 4670, the Nokia 6800, Canon's PowerShot SD10, the $20 bill, a bottle opener, and an advanced healing blister bandage.
