Micro Systemation has announced the availability of SoftGSM USB, a software solution allowing users to connect laptops to GSM phones.

By using the GSM software a connection to an office server or ISP can be made using a mobile phone.

The USB solution is available for Mac OS 9, but does not include a Short Message System (SMS) or a phone book. These will be free to download from GSM's Web site this December.

The SoftGSM USB supports Motorola, Nokia, Siemens and Ericsson phones.

The product ships with a connection cable and a manual. It will cost £95.
