A report on the Prinectonian reveals that Apple has grabbed more marketshare on campus than it has achieved in any previous year. In 2003 15 per cent of new students got a Mac, while this figure grew to 38 per cent by 2005.

The student move to Macs has also been emulated among staff at the university, the report explains.

Reasons described for the switch include the viruses and malware that plague Windows.
