Apple will add six new channels to its QuickTime TV (QTV) lineup, the company announced at the QuickTime Live! Conference in Los Angeles yesterday.

One of the new channels is CNN.com, which will broadcast round-the-clock newscasts from CNN Headline News, daily video reports, and audio reports from CNN Radio.

The other new channels are MTV, Nickleodeon, TV Land, Financial Times and tv-radio.com. The tv-radio.com channel will feature content from 50 radio stations and five TV stations in France.

Channels already available on QTV include BBC World, Bloomberg, Disney.com, FOXNews.com, and the UK’s Virgin Radio.

Phil Schiller, Apple’s vice president of worldwide product marketing, opened the QuickTime Live! conference with a keynote speech yesterday, where he previewed features in the upcoming release of QuickTime 4.1.
