Apple has described as "baseless" race allegations made against it by a former employee.
The unnamed employee had claimed he had been separated from his colleagues, denied promotions, and finally sacked for bringing a friend into work.
An Apple spokeswoman told Guardian Unlimited: "We take this kind of accusation very seriously, but our investigation has shown this claim to be baseless and we intend to vigorously defend this lawsuit."
The employee in question was a black product-engineer, who worked for Apple from 1998 to 2001. The employee filed a £27 million discrimination lawsuit against Apple and his former supervisor Dan Riccio in the Santa Clara County Superior Court in California.
