Apple Japan may be planning to open an all-new Tokyo retail store - this time in the centre of the city's ultra-trendy fashion district, Omotesando.
It's widely-believed Apple has been looking for suitable premises in the area for some time - since 2004, according to some reports.
The company already has two retail outlets in Japan's capital city, one in Ginza, the other in Shibuya. A third store could be considered unlikely, however JapanConsuming.com reports that rumours of such plans have been so insistent "there seems every chance that this one will turn out to be true."
The report adds: "It seems likely that a new Apple store will open within the next few months in Omotesando, one of the most prestigious retail locations in Japan, rivalling Ginza."
The store will reportedly be situated at the site of the old J.Crew store, at a high pedestrian traffic area that's close to two railway stations.
The other half of Omotesando leading up from Meiji Dori to Aoyama Dori is home to the world's most prestigious luxury brands, the report observes.
