Apple may be preparing to release an Intel processor-powered Xserve in July, a report claims.

ThinkSecret predicts that the new Xserve will use Intel's Woodcrest processor, but that the new desktop professional Macs will use Intel's forthcoming Core 2 Duo chip (Conroe).

The site speculates that this new Intel Power Mac replacement will be released in August.

"Meanwhile, sources inside Intel are reporting that Merom, the laptop-friendly version of the Core 2 Duo, remains on track for an August release," the site adds, suggesting the possibility of the release of a revised MacBook Pro.
