Apple's iPod division may be preparing to take the wraps off a selection of new products designed to consolidate the company's hold on the digital music market.

AppleInsider reports the division may release "several iPod-related products", perhaps as soon as early next year.

The report takes pains to explain the products are designed as companion products for iPods, rather than accessories. One such product is reportedly called an "iPod boombox".

The news emerges as analysts, Mac and iPod-watchers alike prepare for Macworld Expo, San Francisco, with multiple rumours suggesting Apple may have massive product roll-out plans in place.
