Many Mac-watchers had anticipated the release of Apple's upgraded iMac range at WWDC 2007, but they may not have too long to wait.

Hot of the press at veteran Mac rumour website AppleInsider comes news that the refreshed products are destined to debut somewhere between late July and mid-August.

The company has reportedly developed radically redesigned versions of its 20- and 24-inch iMacs. The new machines will be slimmer and sleeker than the current range, the report claims. There will be no 17-inch model, the report adds.

A second report offers some fillip to iPod-using Mercedes-Benz owners. It claims that the car maker is working with Apple to deliver a navigation system next year.

This report emanates from Germany's Focus magazine (link to translation), which claims the Apple-developed device will combine entertainment, communication and navigation functions, effectively an iPod-cum-iPhone-cum-navigation solution.
