Apple may already be shipping limited quantities of rumoured new improved Mac minis.

MacNN reports that some customers are receiving these slightly speed-bumped boxes in the same packaging as their equivalent unimproved models.

"Customers who recently ordered the top-of-the-line 1.42GHz model instead received the updated 1.5GHz machine", the report states.

The Mac mini uses the same video card, and introduces an 8x SuperDrive, the report informs.

Another report claims the SuperDrive supports 5x DVD-RAM, 8x DVD+/-R, 4x DVD+/-RW, and 24x CD R.

Apple has made no official announcement, nor has it revealed specifics of these present rumours online.
