Web analysts OneStat.com has released figures underlining the success of Apple's Safari browser.

The company states: "Apple's Safari browser has shown a fast adoption rate, with a global usage share of 0.11 per cent in the first weeks of its public launch." Safari is doing rather better than Opera 7, which has a global share of 0.03 per cent.

Microsoft browsers still dominate the market, with 95.2 per cent usage share. The total global usage share of Netscape is 2.9 per cent, and the global usage share of Netscape 7 is 0.64 per cent, the analysts report.

Research is based on a sample of 2 million visitors divided into 20,000 visitors of 100 countries each day.
