WoodWing Software will introduce a content-management plug-in for Adobe InDesign at Seybold San Francisco, being held from September 25-27.

Smart Catalog is aimed at catalogue publishers who need a quick and easy way to add content. It lets users link both to ranges of text and to image frames with external data. Changes made within an InDesign document can also be saved to a data source.

Smart Catalog links up with various databases and XML (Extensible Markup Language) files. It also integrates with other Woodwing products, including Smart Layout, Smart Styles and the forthcoming Smart Tables.

The product has been given Hot Pick status by Seybold editors, meaning it's seen as a noteworthy release. No price has yet been announced for SmartCatalog.
