Apple has published pictures of an iChat AV conversation that took place during a flight between Munich and San Francisco.

Apple is touting it as "the first in-air commercial video conference". It saw Apple product-line manager Eric Zelenka onboard a Lufthansa flight to San Francisco conversing with Apple product manager Kurt Knight back in Cupertino.

The iChat was made possible by Lufthansa's new wireless high-speed broadband connection service.

Apple claims: "Although the wireless Internet connection involved sending data from an Airbus traveling at 500mph through a satellite receiver in a 20,000-mile earth orbit, conferencing with Zelenka was as easy as clicking his video status button.
