Ambrosia Software has released Snapz Pro X 2.0 – the latest update to its screen-capture technology.
Snapz Pro is used for capturing video of anything on a computer screen with digital audio and an optional microphone voiceover. The company claims its video capture engine is 20 times faster than anything else on the market.
The update features a new user interface and a number of new functions, including Live Preview, which shows how a screenshot will look before saving it to disk. It is also now possible to change border styles, scaling, cropping, and other settings on the fly.
The technology is able to save screenshots as .bmp, .pict, .gif, .jpg, .png, .tiff, .pdf, or Photoshop files, and offers precise control over image compression – screenshots can be scaled, cropped, colour depth-changed, and dithered. It is also possible to generate automatic thumbnails, and overlay watermarks or copyright notices.
Snapz Pro X 2.0 costs $69 (£37). Upgrades from Snapz Pro X 1.0 w/ movie capture are $20 (£11).
