Ambrosia has updated its industry-standard screen capture utility Snapz Pro X, making it more compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther, among other changes.

The utility (version 1.0.7) lets users capture screenshots, images of menus, windows and other objects, and also movies. It's an industrial-grade and more powerful alternative to Apple's built-in Grab tool.

This version introduces better compatibility with iTunes and some Macromedia applications. It also introduces automatic updating, so the application will be kept up-to-date. Snapz Pro has also been recompiled for some performance and compatibility improvements.

Snapz Pro 2.0 is now in development. The key feature of this iteration will be increased video capture performance.

More information about the update is available from Ambrosia's website. Snapz Pro costs $49 (with video capture) or $29 (without).
