Sony will resubmit its patent infringement suit against Connectix, following last week's withdrawal of 11 of its PlayStation patent claims against the company.

Sony withdrew its complaints to avoid procedural issues that may have given Connectix the space it required to appeal. News.com speculates that the suggestion to withdraw may have come from Federal Court Judge Charles Legge.

The complaint involves Connectix’s Virtual Game Station, an emulation program that lets PlayStation games run on a Mac.

Last week, Roy McDonald, Connectix’s CEO, said: "Sony’s withdrawal was entirely expected and what we anticipated. The case is starting to wind down a bit. I hope Sony will see it’s better to join us than fight us."
