Sony has revealed that it is working on an iTunes-style film distribution system.
Speaking at the Digital Hollywood conference, senior vice president of Sony Pictures Michael Arrieta said: "We want to set business models, pricing models, distribution models like (Apple Computer CEO Steve) Jobs did for music, but for the film industry."
He added: "I'm trying to create the new 'anti-Napster'," writes Cnet.
Arrieta explained that Sony plans to digitize its top 500 films and make them available in digital environments next year. He said that Sony intends to sell and make films available for mobile phones as well as for downloading to a PC.
