Among a range of US iTunes announcements comes news that Cartoon Network's Emmy Award-winning animated TV series Star Wars: Clone Wars is now available through iTunes.

The 20 chapters of the first series of the show will be available on iTunes immediately, with the second series being made available in June. Chapters cost $1.99, or the full season costs $10.99,

"As animated shorts, Clone Wars is the perfect content to watch on an iPod," said Tom Warner, senior director of marketing for Lucasfilm. "iTunes is a convenient new way to explore these rich, exciting stories that expand the Star Wars universe."

The original animated series produced by Cartoon Network Studios, Lucasfilm and renowned director Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Dexter's Laboratory) follows the exploits of heroic Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu and a legion of Jedi Knights as they fight against the forces of the Dark Side.

The series originally aired on Cartoon Network and became the number one-rated show on cable TV among boys 9-17 years old. Over 23 million people watched at least one episode during its Cartoon Network run.
