SPSS has released SPSS 10.0, the first Mac upgrade for the statistical program since 1995.

The software allows data access, data preparation, reporting, graphics and advanced-statistical analysis.

The upgrade has been redesigned as a Mac-native package. SPSS 1.0 includes new modules, predictive capabilities for data mining, and dynamic, integrative graphics.

Associate managing director Marcus Hearne said: "We are happy to de delivering the latest and greatest version of SPSS to users on the Macintosh platform. Mac users can now call upon SPSS’ analytical muscle – including forecasting, scoring, segmentation and profiling – to make smarter, faster decisions."

SPSS collaborated with developer MacKiev for the software. MacKiev re-engineered SPSS 10.0 for Windows to run as a native-Mac application, and modified the user interface to standard Macintosh guidelines.

MacKiev has converted more than one hundred software applications to the Mac.
