The iPod mini has been recognised in PC Magazine's 21st Annual Awards for Technical Excellence.

The popular music player was the winner in the Mobile Devices category.

The mini is praised for its "perfectly crafted interface and controls" and its "silky smooth operation, graceful design, and techno-chic style". PC Magazine says it was "compelled" to give the award to the iPod mini because of the "enormous impact it has had on the music player market".

"We love that we can charge it using the USB 2.0 connection and that it's sturdy enough to survive drops and falls. We especially enjoy the envious looks we get walking down the street with it," says the magazine.
