Watchmaker Fossil has licensed the Palm OS for a watch-cum-PDA (personal digital assistant) scheduled to ship in mid-2003.

The Wrist PDA features a touch screen, a stylus integrated into the band, 2MB of memory, an infrared port, and standard Palm applications - including address book, date book and memo pad.

Earlier this year, Fossil launched a set of Wrist PDAs that could hold data transferred from handheld computers, but were not fully functional PDAs. The new Wrist PDA is fully compatible with the Palm OS platform and will run all Palm OS applications.

The Wrist PDA will be available by mid-2003. Pricing for the new devices was not disclosed.
