The UK's 28 Mac User Groups (MUG) have together launched their first national photography competition.

The competition was first revealed at London's Mac Expo and is open to all Mac users. It closes January 10.

The MUG invite entries in four categories: reflections, industrial landscape, movement and wildlife. Prizes include £250 Jessops store vouchers, Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, magazine subscriptions, software and digital camera cards.

Only one photo will be accepted from each entrant, and entries must be accompanied by a form that is available for download from the MUG website.

Speaking at the launch, MUG co-ordinator Michael Corgan said: "This is a great opportunity for Mac users to show their other skills and to find out more about their local Mac User Group."

There are 28 Mac User groups in the UK and Ireland, serving members in all areas of the country, including Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff, London and Edinburgh.

People are setting up new User Groups in Avon & Gloucester, Essex, Leicester & Northants, Suffolk and Surrey.
