Apple's director of software product marketing in Europe Oren Ziv will offer a seminar at Macworld UK's forthcoming Macworld Conference in London this May.

The Macworld Conference takes place May 17-18 and offers Mac users a chance to learn skills across a host of topics from a plethora of major Mac industry figures. Conference speakers already include Deke McClelland, Jason Snell, Andy Ihnatko and many more.

It's the first Macworld Conference to be held in the UK – similar events have run in the US for twenty years.

Oren Ziv will discuss the Mac and open-source. He give conference delegates an educated discussion of how Apple works with the open source community, and will examine the relationships between Mac OS X, Unix, Linux and the Drawin core of OS X.

He'll look at how such systems can be used together to boost security, and will discuss what these new relationships mean in terms of how businesses across industries can expand the use of Macs within their organizations because of that platform's advanced compatibility with others.

Conference attendees are being offered the chance to acquire knowledge across a broad range of topics, including graphics, image capture, editing and layout; Mac OS X and Xserve; video and special effects; and Web-design and delivery.
