Ofcom hopes to legalise the use of FM transmitters like Belkin’s TuneCast or Griffin’s iTrip by late autumn 2006.

The telecommunications watchdog has produced a proposal for the legalisation of the use of these low power FM transmitters.

These transmitters can be used to connect iPods to radios and in-car entertainment systems but they are currently unauthorised for use in the UK and Europe because of the potential to cause interference to broadcast services.
