Gordon Harwood Computers (GHC) will hold its special Mac OS X 10.3 Panther launch event on October 25. Apple has announced that its new OS will ship on Friday, October 24 at 8pm (BST).

The GHC event begins when the Mac reseller opens its doors at 9am that day. It takes place at the company's Apple Centre showroom at Alfreton in the East Midlands. The reseller promises demonstrations of the new OS and that it will have boxed copies of Apple's new operating system available on the day.

GHC joins the following resellers who have confirmed plans to hold special Panther launch events, as reported here yesterday. These include:

Tewkesbury, Cardiff and Newcastle: AT Computers will hold Panther launch events at its three showrooms in Tewkesbury, Cardiff and Newcastle. These events take place October 25 from 9.30am-4pm.

Central London: The Square Group plans to open its New Oxford Street showroom after 7pm on October 24. Mac OS X 10.3 will be available for sale, and Apple staff will also be there, the reseller told Macworld.

Computer Warehouse is offering a late-night chance for Mac users to obtain a copy of Panther. The reseller will open the doors of its Brentford store at 7pm on October 24. The company is setting up special offers to those who pre-register their attendance online.

KRCS is hosting Panther launch events at its Apple Centres in Nottingham, Leeds and Birmingham city centres on Saturday, October 25. More information will be made available online.
