Apple's Logic Pro 7.2 is now shipping, and it's available in Universal Binaries, meaning that the software will run natively on both the PowerPC and Intel Macs.

Logic Pro 7.2 adds support for the Apogee Ensemble firewire interface, works with Pro Tools HD 7DAE, and can open GarageBand 3 projects.

Apple demonstrated the Intel-native version of the high-end audio application at the NAMM music show in January. Apple's Bob Hunt was running video, with thumbnails, music and a dozen or more high-end effects on a MacBook Pro. He said: "None of these sessions would even run on a PowerBook."

Logic Pro 7.2 costs $999. UK pricing is to be confirmed.
