Apple's iTunes Music Store presently seems out of action.
Multiple attempts to access the service between 1.20 and 1.42pm this afternoon yielded an error message which said: "Could not complete the Music Store request. The store may be busy".
UPDATE: The original error message has now been replaced by an all-black screen which declares: "It's Showtime. The iTunes Store is being updated."
Meanwhile, readers note that Apple's Spanish and German QuickTime pages seem to show video downloads including films from Dreamworks and Disney may be made available across Europe.
It is worth reflecting that Apple is a US-based company, and it is currently early in the morning in that country.
Readers are invited to indulge in speculation and comment on this story in Macworld's Forums as the hours tick by before Apple's meeting at 6pm tonight.
