While it has its advantages, implementation of a new PowerSchool feature is frustrating some educators.

The new feature - PowerLunch - is a system that tracks what students spend on lunch at school. Using this system - which is a component of Apple's US-only PowerSchool system - parents will eventually be able to track what their children spend on lunch.

However, the system was only introduced in Maine two weeks before the beginning of the school term. The effect of this is that children and food service workers are facing difficulties making it work, and dealing with teething problems identified in the system. This has meant students have ended up with little time to eat their food.
