There's drama at Apple CEO Steve Jobs' other company Pixar this week as US regulators launch an informal investigation of the company.

The US securities and Exchange Commission has launched an investigation into the company over the way it reports its DVD sales, Pixar confirmed last week.

The Wall Street Journal claimed regulators want to take a look at sluggish sales of Pixar's "The Incredibles" on DVD. Slack sales meant Pixar missed its target performance figures.
