Orange Micro has announced its OrangeUSB 2.0 Hi-Speed CardBus PC Card, bringing USB 2.0 to Mac laptops.

The upgrade is a PCMCIA (personal computer memory card international association) card for PowerBook G3 users. Featuring four USB 2.0 ports, the device transfers data at a rate of up to 480 Mbps. It is capable of hosting up to 127 USB devices.

USB 2.0 has speeds of up 40 times that of USB 1.1 peripherals, is backwards-compatible with older USB devices and can be used for high-end data devices, such as USB hard drives and USB CD-RW drives.
