Veoh Networks has released over 3,000 free videos compatible with the iPod.

Veoh Networks operates a hybrid model, distributing 10,000 videos created by individuals and small groups alongside offerings from broadcasters, including original Superman cartoons, feature films and classsic comedy such as The Three Stooges.

"Veoh allows anyone with a computer and an Internet connection to broadcast their own TV show, or channel of shows, in full-screen television quality," the company said. Veoh will introduce support for other devices in future, the company confirmed.

The service relies on cross-platform (Mac and Windows) software which connects a computer to other users over a broadband connection, and shares files using file-sharing technology.

This creates what the company terms a "virtual television network able to distribute TV-quality, full-screen video to hundreds of millions of users." Because its a distributed system, video creators can publish a theoretically unlimited quantity of content.
