Apple's determination not to license its FairPlay digital rights management system faces further opposition, this time in France.

Virgin Mega there took its complaint before the French Competition Council on June 29, 2004. The plaintiff is complaining that Apple has "wrongfully refused to license Fairplay technology to competitors," Apple's newest US Securities and Exchange filing reveals.

"Virgin is seeking 'interim measures' pending the determination of the merits of the case", Apple's own financial report reveals, adding: "A hearing on Virgin's request for such measures will likely be heard in October or November 2004."
