VMWare has confirmed that Softline UK will be the official UK distributor for its recently-released virtualisation software, VMWare Fusion for Mac.

Fusion supports more than 60 guest operating systems, including Solaris, Linux versions and various versions of Windows. It enables Intel-based Macs to run Mac OS X, Windows and other OS's side-by-side on an Intel Mac without needing to reboot their machine.

Fusion is already available for purchase and download from outlets listed on the Softline website, and will be available at retail by the end of the month.

The virtualisation solution offers a range of features including Unity, which lets users minimize Windows applications to the Mac OS X Dock. It also offers 64-bit memory addressing support and 3D graphics support.

Softline managing director Kevin Doorley enthused: "Fusion is cutting-edge technology that adds a variety of new features found in no other virtualisation product."

The UK price has also been confirmed. It will cost £49.95.
