Volkswagen is offering a car stereo component that lets drivers utilise digital music players, including iPods.

The new in-car audio feature also lets drivers manage their songs using a dashboard display, with up to six playlists visible there, all managed using the built-in radio. The digital device plugs into a console that is built-in to the central armrest.

The new connection will be available as an option on Volkswagen's Golf, Golf Plus and Touran models in December, and on other models next year.
