Griffin Technology has introduced a limited edition version of its PowerMate volume controller for Mac.

The device is available online from the company's Web site. It is an ergonomically designed multimedia controller that can be used as a volume control, or programmed to act as a jog/shuttle wheel for movie editing, or a scroll wheel for use with long documents.

It's made of anodized aluminium and features a blue pulsating glow from underneath. The company introduced the device in November 2001.

The device connects to the Mac over a USB connection, and offers presets to work with applications including iTunes, iMovie, Internet Explorer and others. The special edition product costs $45.
