Apple has posted an update that fixes a problem where a WebObjects application linked to several frameworks would not open or launch in Microsoft Windows 2000.

MS-DOS commands are limited to 2,048 characters, so when a Windows 2000 WebObjects application is linked to several frameworks, it may fail to run because the classpath generated is too long for the Windows launch script to handle properly.

All apps will launch with WOLauncher.exe – the update – after its installation, instead of the usual launch scripts.

The update however has one limitation – applications cannot be launched in debug mode.
