Some iTunes Music Store users are experiencing difficulty purchasing songs.
A number of Windows users of the store have written about their experiences on the forums of Apple's Web site.
One iTunes user writes: "Whenever I click on the Buy Song button, iTunes crashes. Not the whole PC, just iTunes. I can access the music store but when I try to buy it all goes wrong."

According to one forum writer, Apple issued the following email to those who wrote asking for assistance:
"Thank you for contacting the iTunes Music Store.
"After carefully reviewing your request, we have determined that this issue falls outside the type of support provided by iTunes Music Store Customer Service.
"The iTunes Music Store team answers non-technical questions about billing, customer accounts, downloading music, and iTunes Music Store content.
"For technical information, visit iTunes Support.
"If you require assistance beyond the complimentary support available online, please call AppleCare technical support at 800-APL-CARE (800-275-2273). Help is available seven days a week from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. CST. There may be a fee associated with the call."
Apple has since promised to escalate the report to iTunes Music Store engineering.
With Christmas just days away there are concerns that those who are given iTunes gift certificates for gifts will not be able to redeem them until the new year.
