Wolfram Research has updated Digital Image Processing to version 1.1.

This is a Mathematica application package offering a collection of image-processing tools. It offers more-sophisticated image analyses than with standard image-processing software, Wolfram claims.

Sample functions include: ShowImageHistogram, for visualization of image histograms; ShowImageWarp, for plotting the control points used in image warps; ShowLineProfile, for visualization of line profiles; and ShowRegionofInterest, for a simple display of user-selected regions of interest.

Wolfram Research developed the solution for high-end users – engineers, scientists, researchers. The solution offers a host of image transformation and manipulation tools, with comprehensive tutorial resources.

The solution is designed for use with Mathematica 4 or later and is fully cross-platform compatible, including Mac OS X and earlier. The update is available for download from the company's Web site.
