Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has denied a recent report that claimed he thinks Apple should spin off its iPod division.

Reacting to a report in Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper, Wozniak denied he made such claims, posting a statement on the matter to's list.

"As for "spinning off iPod" I heartily deny saying this," Wozniak explains. "Why would Apple spin off something so successful?" he adds.

"I did not say that the iPod division should be spun off and I feel used in that regard," Wozniak complains.

He also denied the report's claims that he was negative about the move to Intel processors, instead claiming he had acknowledged that some Mac users may be against it because Intel has always been seen as an "enemy".

"So much of our Mac history rides on being different than the masses," Wozniak concedes.
