Registration for Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference opened today.

The conference runs from May 6-10 at the San Jose Convention Center in California.

WWDC informs developers on the direction Apple is taking. The focus last year was Mac OS X. A pre-registration deal is available until April 15, involving a $300 saving on the normal price of $1,595.

A $1,695 starter bundle is also available for new developers until April 15. This includes admittance to the conference, a year's membership to Apple Developer Connection Select and a discount on any one Mac system.

In related news, IDG World Expo and Apple Developer Connection have united to offer two deals for those interested in exhibiting at Macworld Conference & Expo New York which runs from July 16-19 in New York.

The first package, priced at $5,500, includes a 10-x-10-feet exhibition space, as well as basic materials for constructing the booth.

A second $7,000 package includes the same space and materials, but includes the company's logo on an official sponsorship banner and on the show's Web site.
