UK developer P&L Software is selling its Mac OS X spreadsheet application, Mesa, at a reduced price throughout July.

The company is charging $39 per license, a $20 discount. Educational licenses are available for $34.

Lee Cox, sales manager at the company, remarked: “Mesa gives Macintosh users a choice. They don't have to go with Excel any more if, like most spreadsheet users, they want more than AppleWorks provides, but don't need all Excel's bells and whistles.”

The currently available version of Mesa can read and save Excel format files. A free demo version is available for download.
