Macintosh users have raised a petition demanding Apple delivers Mac OS X software support for AirPort Base Station.

Mac OS 9.x supports the feature, which enables owners of two or more AirPort-equipped Macs to set up one of these to act as a Base Station –precluding the need for a Base Station.

Although the solution isn't ideal – it involves tying-up one of the Macs to act as the Base Station – many users still want Apple to implement the feature in Mac OS X.

MacObserver reports that Macintosh user Norm Phillips is collecting names to submit to Apple requesting it implement this feature in OS X.
