Its been doing the rounds for the last few weeks but for anyone who missed it The Onion’s spot on Apple spoof is worth watching, and for those who have already seen it worth watching again.

For those not familiar with The Onion, the site is devoted to producing fake news, which occasionally, as these things get passed around the Internet, gets mistaken for the real thing.

The Apple spoof introduces the Apple Wheel, a large totally impractical iPod like wheel, which replaces the keyboard on a MacBook.

Filmed as a technology based news report and ‘introduced’ at the Macworld Conference & Expo, a seemingly healthy Steve Jobs is seen debuting the MacBook Wheel.

With a single giant button, “Everything is just a few hundred clicks away,” explains the deadpan Apple rep called Brian Gilman, as he shows how the wheel can be used to laboriously search files on your MacBook.

“I’ll buy almost anything if its shiny and made by Apple,” says one Mac enthusiast, shown spending 45 minutes writing an email on the shiny new MacBook Wheel.

The new MacBook Wheel is shown priced at $2,599 for an 8 GB model, while the 40 GB version costs $9,960.

Come on, you know you want one?
